Terms of Use
Anonymous to the room, not to the law. Here are the rules.
These terms apply whenever you use Who.Said.That.Space? at whosaid.space (“the service”, “we”, “us”). By making or joining a room you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. What the service is
Private group chat rooms without accounts. A room is opened with its name and a 6-digit PIN. Notes show only the date and time they were sent, never a name. Text notes are deleted after 30 days, and photos and GIFs after 30 seconds.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18 (or under the age of majority where you live), you need a parent's or guardian's permission. You may only use the service where it's legal for you to do so.
3. Anonymous, not untraceable
Other people in a room can't see who wrote a note. But every note is stored with an encrypted network record: the sender's IP address, an approximate location looked up from it, and device and browser details. Nobody in the room can ever see it. We open it only when a note is reported. We may share a reported note and its records with the police or other authorities when the law requires it, or when we believe in good faith that it's needed to protect someone from death or serious harm. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what's kept and for how long.
4. The rules
Don't post, send or do any of the following:
- threats of violence, or encouraging anyone to hurt themselves or someone else;
- harassment, bullying, humiliation or intimidation of anyone, including “exposing” people;
- someone's personal information (like their address, phone number, school or workplace) without their consent;
- any sexual content involving anyone under 18. There is zero tolerance for this: it is reported to the authorities;
- intimate photos or videos of anyone without their consent, or sexual content sent to people who didn't ask for it;
- hate speech: attacking people because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or similar;
- false statements meant to damage someone's reputation;
- anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else's rights, including copyright;
- spam, scams or malware;
- attempts to break into rooms, guess PINs, overload or disrupt the service, or get around its limits;
- pretending to be someone else in a way that misleads or harms.
5. Your content
You're responsible for what you post. It stays yours. You let us store it and show it to the people in your room for as long as the service keeps it, and keep a copy if it's reported, as the Privacy Policy describes. Disappearing photos can still be screenshotted or photographed by others. Don't send anything you wouldn't want someone to keep.
6. Reports and enforcement
Anyone in a room can report a note with the Report button (tap a note to see it). Reports go privately to us, never to the room. We review them and may delete notes or rooms, block access, keep evidence, and contact the authorities. We don't read rooms in general and can't review everything. Filing false or abusive reports is also against these rules.
7. Rooms and PINs
Anyone with a room's name and PIN, or its link and PIN, can read and post in it. Share the PIN only with people you trust. Only the browser that made a room can rename it. We can't recover a forgotten PIN or creator access.
8. No guarantees
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. It may change, be unavailable, or lose notes. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for what users post or for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Using the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
10. Contact
Questions, and legal requests from the authorities: support@whosaid.space. To report a note, use the Report button on it.
